…sadece isimler değişiyor / Renamed : 3. YEDİTEPE BİENALİ’NDE YERLEŞTİRME ESERİME DAİR

Sanat, yalnızca görüneni değil; gizleneni, bastırılanı, unutulanı da görünür kılmakla yükümlüdür. 3. Yeditepe Bienali kapsamında hayata geçirdiğim bu yerleştirme,Savas`ın  çok katmanlı ruhundan, zamanın tortularından ve belleğin inatçı ısrarından besleniyor.

Bu eser; hem bir hatırlama hem de bir hatırlatma çabasıdır.

El işçiliğiyle yoğrulmuş detaylar, Savaş` ın kalıntıları arasında bugünü arayan bir göz gibi; dokular, zamanın dokunuşunu taşıyor. Daha çok, sorgulamanın, sezmenin, yeniden kurmanın yollarını açan bir aralık…

Neyi görüyoruz, neyi görmezden geliyoruz?

Bu yerleştirme, estetik bir yüzey sunmakla yetinmeyip, izleyiciyi içsel bir yolculuğa davet ediyor. Zanaat ile sanatın, sessizlik ile sesin arasında kurulan bu gerilim; aslında bizim yaşadığımız çağın, kimliğimizin ve kültürel mirasımızın da aynasıdır.

Benim için bu çalışma, sadece bir sanat eseri değil; bir hafıza alanı, bir vicdan sesi ve bir tanıklık biçimi.

Bir yerleştirme bazen bir suskunluğun yankısı olabilir.

Ve işte tam da bu yüzden, bu eser sessizliğini izleyiciyle birlikte tamamlıyor. Onunla konuşan, ona bakan, onu sorgulayan herkes, bu yapının bir parçası hâline geliyor. Sanat artık yalnızca sanatçının değil; görenin, hissedenin ve anlam yükleyenin oluyor.

Bu bienalde yer almak, yalnızca bir sergileme biçimi değil, aynı zamanda bir kültürel sorumluluk ve hafıza çağrısıydı benim için. Bu çağrıyı yanıtlamak, hem bir onur hem de bir arayış.

“…Only the Names Change / Renamed”: ON MY INSTALLATION AT THE 3RD YEDİTEPE BIENNIAL

Art is not only tasked with revealing the visible—it must also unveil the hidden, the suppressed, the forgotten. The installation I created for the 3rd Yeditepe Biennial draws its strength from the layered spirit of war, from the sediments of time, and from the persistent insistence of memory.

This work is both an act of remembrance and a call to remember.

The handcrafted details act like an eye searching for today amid the ruins of war; the textures carry the touch of time. Rather than offering a direct path, they open portals to questioning, sensing, and reconstructing.

What do we see, and what do we choose to ignore?

This installation does not settle for presenting an aesthetic surface—it invites the viewer into an internal journey. The tension between craft and art, between silence and sound, mirrors the era we live in, our identity, and our cultural heritage.

For me, this work is not merely a piece of art; it is a space of memory, a voice of conscience, and a form of bearing witness.

An installation can sometimes be the echo of silence.

And it is precisely for this reason that this work finds its completion in the presence of the viewer. Those who engage with it, observe it, and question it, become a part of its structure. Art no longer belongs solely to the artist—it becomes the property of the beholder, the feeler, and the interpreter.

To take part in this biennial was not just a matter of exhibition—it was a cultural responsibility and a call to collective memory. Answering that call was both an honor and a search.
